The official Twin Cities high temperature, which is measured at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, was 99 degrees on Saturday. That set a new Twin Cities record high for June 5, and we also had a record warm June 5 low temp of 78 degrees.

St. Cloud had a record high of 98 on Saturday, and Eau Claire, Wisc., had a record high of 97.  several spots in northern Minnesota had record highs on Saturday:

The National Weather Service has posted a 

 of numerous spots in Minnesota that hit 100 degrees or higher on Saturday. Here are a few of the warmest temps:

Sunday highs will reach the 90s in most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

There’ll be a few 80s in far northwestern Minnesota and parts of the northeast.

Far northwestern Minnesota could see scattered showers and thunderstorms this morning. The thunderstorm chances gradually spread to the east and southeast as we go through the afternoon and evening hours. At this point, it looks like our thunderstorm chance in the Twin Cities will hold off until sometime after 6 p.m. or so.

The NWS Storm Prediction center shows a marginal risk of severe weather today and tonight in the dark-green shaded area from southwestern Minnesota into northeastern Minnesota:

Marginal risk means that an isolated severe thunderstorm is possible.
