With drought conditions covering 75 percent of Minnesota right now, many of us are looking for rain. Meaningful rain is on the way for some areas this Saturday and Saturday night. Those areas will see periods of rain and embedded thunderstorms.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern Saturday and Saturday evening:
NOAA’s High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) forecast model shows a fairly similar rain pattern:
The highest rain totals Saturday and Saturday night are expected to be from south-central and southeastern Minnesota into Wisconsin:

High temps and dew points
Our average Twin Cities high temp is 82 degrees this time of year. We could top out around 80 this Saturday. Many spots in Minnesota and western Wisconsin will top out in the upper 70s:
Saturday dew points will be in the sticky 60s in the metro area plus much of southern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin, with mainly 50s elsewhere:
