Following a chilly start for parts of Minnesota, almost the entire state makes it into the 70s by the afternoon, with rain chances moving back in.
Thursday’s forecast
Under mostly clear skies across Minnesota overnight, temperatures dropped 10 to 15 degrees below average, with most of the state in the 40s and 50s early Thursday. The Arrowhead even had a little spotty frost and some 30s, and Hibbing set a record low at 34.
Thanks to partly sunny skies, and winds that shift more southerly during the day, almost the entire state will be back in the 70s by the afternoon, with comfortable humidity.
These temperatures are slightly below average for most of Minnesota for early July, but not unseasonably cold.

Western and southern Minnesota especially can expect a few more clouds into the afternoon ahead of a storm that could also bring a few isolated showers and storms to that area.
That system brings the brunt of its wet weather south of the state, but should bring some additional rain through Saturday, then temperatures trend hotter again.
