Minnesota sees mostly sunny skies into the weekend

Minnesota is back in a drier trend, with only limited rain chances into early next week. Meanwhile, temperatures go from slightly below average midweek, to 80s by the end of the week.
Wednesday’s forecast
High pressure is moving in to the state, but northeastern Minnesota is still seeing instability from an area of low pressure in Canada (the same storm that brought the cold front through the state early Tuesday and caused gusty winds), so Wednesday’s weather will be fairly similar to what we saw Tuesday.
It will still be breezy Wednesday, with gusts over 20 mph at times, although that is far less than Tuesday’s winds that reached over 50 mph in a couple spots.
Wednesday morning lows were fairly seasonable, with most of the state in the 50s.

Under a continued chilly wind flow from the northwest, the highs drop a couple degrees cooler again, with most of northern Minnesota in the 60s Wednesday and low to mid-70s west and south.
Much like the recent trend, sunshine will be widespread Wednesday except for in northeastern Minnesota.
Because of the instability around the Arrowhead, that area will once again see spotty showers and storms, especially in the afternoon and evening hours with daytime heating.
Extended forecast
Much lighter winds are expected Thursday, which will stop temperatures from cooling any more, keeping daytime highs similar to Wednesday.
By, Friday a southerly wind flow returns ahead of a warm front, pushing most of Minnesota into the 80s.
Then another cold front moves through Saturday, dropping highs back in the 60s and low 70s by Sunday.
Here is that forecast temperature trend for the Twin Cities:
Next week brings a comparable temperature trend, with highs mostly in the 70s and a few 60s north, with occasional days that run slightly warmer or cooler. In other words, very seasonable weather for mid-September.
Rain stays limited through the weekend, although a disturbance is likely to bring light rain to northern Minnesota late Friday into early Saturday, with the best chance for accumulating rainfall in the Arrowhead again.
However, most of the state stays predominantly dry and sunny throughout the weekend.
