The low pressure system that brought us gusty northwest winds on Wednesday has shifted off to the east. Thursday will be mostly sunny with a very light breeze. A few showers might break out in the afternoon, mainly across northeastern Minnesota. The Twin Cities should have a high temperature around 76.
Friday will be a sunny and warmer day. The Twin Cities should reach the low 80s in the afternoon.
A weak cold front will cross the state on Saturday and bring cooler temperatures to the northwest. The front should be mainly dry but a few isolated light showers are possible.
Cooler weather will arrive for the whole state by Sunday. I expect that the Twin Cities will enjoy a run of highs in the low to mid 70s through about next Wednesday before warming again.
Rain coming?
A better chance of measurable rain might be coming our way in the Monday-Tuesday timeframe. But the drought will persist. Some lawns have greened up but soil moisture, lake and river levels remain low.
