Rain has moved out of the state, but clearing skies are leading to some areas of thick fog Friday morning.
Friday’s forecast
The storm which brought much of Minnesota a soaking rainfall Wednesday into Thursday has finally cleared east as of Friday morning.
0Clouds still linger across much of the state and decrease west to east during the day, with most of Minnesota back in widespread sunshine by the afternoon.
In northwestern Minnesota, where clouds have already moved out, the combination of clear skies and predominantly calm winds overnight has led to some thick morning fog.

The dense fog advisory for northwest and north-central Minnesota goes until 9 a.m., with fog lifting through the morning.
The clearer skies in that area also make it the chilly spot Friday morning. Morning temperatures are mostly in the 30s, with a couple 20s west, where skies are clearer, while eastern Minnesota is starting the day with milder 40s because of the cloud cover.
With the entire state getting more sunshine by Friday afternoon, almost everyone makes it back into the 50s for highs, which is slightly above average for late October.
Temperatures turn even milder Saturday, then a big cool-down begins next week.
