You’ll be happy to know that there aren’t any snowstorms in the Halloween weekend forecast.
We could see a few areas of dense fog in Minnesota and western Wisconsin late Friday night and early Saturday morning. Saturday looks dry in most areas.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential for a passing rain or snow shower in far northern Minnesota on Sunday:

Weekend temps and winds
Our average Twin Cities high temperature is 51 degrees on Oct. 30. Metro area highs will reach the upper 50s to around 60 this Saturday. Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will reach the 50s Saturday afternoon:
Some lower 60s are possible in southwestern Minnesota.
Saturday winds will be lightest to the east, but winds could gust to 20 mph or higher in parts of far western Minnesota:
Plotted wind forecasts are in knots, with 17 knots equal to 19.6 mph.
The strongest winds are behind a cold front, which will swing through Minnesota and western Wisconsin from late Saturday into Sunday. Gusty winds are expected statewide on Sunday.
Sunday high temps will be mainly in the 40s:
Sunday wind gusts will be in the 20-26 mph range:
Trick-or-treaters will need to bundle up. Temperatures at 7 p.m. CDT will be in the 30s in many areas, with some lower 40s to the southeast:
Fall color update
The latest fall color report from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources shows fall colors past peak in the dark-red shaded areas of Minnesota:
The percentage of changeover to fall colors is between 75 percent and 100 percent in the medium-red shaded areas of southeastern Minnesota.
Keep in mind that all deciduous trees are included in the fall color report, not just maples.
I’m still seeing small pockets of excellent fall color in parts of the Twin Cities.
