Temperatures fell into the 20s Wednesday morning in much of Minnesota, especially where skies cleared overnight. At 6 a.m., Hallock in the northwest and Dodge Center in the southeast are both down to 21 degrees. The Twin Cities area is a bit warmer in the low 30s thanks to cloud cover and the usual urban heat island.
Wednesday will be another cooler-than-normal day with highs from the upper 30s to the mid-40s. The Twin Cities should have a high around 45 with a light south breeze.
Warmup gets underway on Thursday
The advertised warmup will get underway on Thursday with high temperatures from the mid-40s to low 50s.
Gusty south winds will blow in milder temperatures on Friday.
Lovely weekend on tap
That mild air will heat up for a lovely weekend with highs from the mid-50s north to the low 60s south. The Twin Cities area should see highs reaching the low 60s both days.
Chances of precipitation?
The weather pattern looks quite dry for the most part through the weekend. A scattering of light showers is possible across northern Minnesota Friday night and maybe into Saturday morning, but nothing significant is likely.
