More of Minnesota makes it into the 50s Friday thanks to warm but gusty winds from the south.
Friday’s forecast
Winds out of the south helped warm all of Minnesota back above average by Thursday afternoon, and now that wind pattern is keeping Friday morning temperatures mild too. Most of the state is starting the day in the 30s, which is 5 to 15 degrees above average for early November.
Those winds turn breezier through the day, and by the afternoon, southern Minnesota especially could see gusts over 30 mph.
That wind pattern continues to funnel warmer air across the state. This puts highs for all but the northern edge of Minnesota into the 50s.
The state see a mix of sunshine and clouds Friday, and northern Minnesota could see a couple isolated rain showers in the late afternoon and evening. No significant rainfall is expected.
Temperatures continue to warm over the weekend, but cool again next week. The next significant storm does not come until the middle of next week and could include some snow.
