Blustery west winds spinning around a low pressure center in Manitoba will bring cooler air into Minnesota for Wednesday. The strongest winds in the state will be found along the western edge of Minnesota, near North Dakota, where winds could gust to near 50 mph in the afternoon. A wind advisory has been posted that western edge of the state and well into the Dakotas for Wednesday while a high wind warning for even stronger winds has been posted farther west.
High temperatures on Wednesday should range from the low 30s in the northwest to the mid-40s in the southeast. The Twin Cities will have an afternoon high near 41 with an increasing west wind gusting to around 35 mph in the afternoon.
Scattered flurries and light snow showers will sweep across northern Minnesota.
Cooler Thursday
Thursday will be breezy and cooler. Expect high temperatures from the mid-20s in the northwest to the low 30s across most of the state. The Twin Cities should have a high around 34.
Milder later in the week
Moderating temperatures should peak on Friday for western parts of the state and probably on Saturday for the eastern half before a cold front brings a few cooler days.
