Tuesday stays mild across Minnesota

Significant snow melt continues, with highs above freezing

Breezy southeast winds keep Minnesota well above average temperatures on Tuesday.

Tuesday’s forecast

Despite mostly clear skies overnight, which usually allows overnight temperatures to drop, Tuesday is off to a warm start for December thanks to breezy winds form the southeast. Morning lows are in the 20s and 30s, which is 10 to 20 degrees above average.

A few more clouds move in during the day, making for partly sunny skies, but those clouds do not hinder Minnesota having another mild day with highs ranging from the mid-30s north to the lower 40s south, putting afternoon temperatures well above freezing.

Winds go from breezy to very strong by Wednesday along with a storm that also brings rain, snow, and even a severe weather risk.

That extended forecast will be updated around 9 a.m.
