A little south breeze will bring in milder temperatures for Wednesday. High temperatures should be in the upper teens across the north, 20s for most of the state and low 30s in the southwest. The Twin Cities should see about 29 degrees with filtered.
The warmup will continue through Friday with above-freezing temperatures across southern Minnesota for Thursday and Friday afternoons, especially where the ground is snow-free. The Twin Cities could reach the low 40s on Friday.

Unsettled weather for Christmas weekend
The mild weather pattern will begin to break down on Saturday. Weather systems from the west will bring periods of snow to Minnesota on Saturday and Sunday. Plowable snow is certainly a possibility for parts of the state.
Storm next week?
Forecast models indicate a decent chance of a bigger storm with heavier snow arriving on Tuesday or Tuesday night.
Next week will be cooler again, as well.
