Awards were handed out Saturday at the inaugural World Snow Sculpting Championship in Stillwater, Minn. — at Lowell Park along the St. Croix River.

Teams of sculptors from around the world worked for several days to transform giant blocks of snow into works of art.

The winning team was "Team Jetset" from Quebec, for their sculpture called "YeeHaa."

"Team Ecuador" took second place, with "Team Snow Cowboys" of Minnesota in third.

"Team Sculptora Borealis" was the people's choice winner.

The free event wraps up on Sunday.

Photographer Nicole Neri traveled to Stillwater on Friday to capture photos of the snow-sculpting teams at work.

And below are photos of the winning teams and their finished creations, as seen on Saturday.
