Weekend weather: Mild, breezy Saturday; cooler Sunday

We’re currently stuck in arctic chill and I’ll bet that most people are ready for milder temps. They’ll rebound nicely on Saturday.

Our average Twin Cities high temp is 26 degrees on Feb. 5. Metro area highs will reach the lower 30s on Saturday. Most of southern Minnesota will have Saturday highs in the 30s, with 20s and a few upper teens in northern Minnesota:

It’ll be breezy on Saturday, with wind gusts of 24 to 30 mph in many areas:

Forecast wind gusts are in knots, with 24 knots equal to 27.6 mph.

Back to temperatures, Sunday highs will be in the teens in much of eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, with single-digit highs in western Minnesota:

Snow chance north on Saturday

Northern Minnesota will have the best chance of snow on Saturday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday:
