We’re in for a much milder week overall leaving right off where the weekend began. Temperatures are around 20 to start early Monday in the Twin Cities and even in far northern Minnesota most temperatures are in the teens. We’ll see sunshine in the south with temperatures in the 40s in many places.
While it will be mild, we’ll be in a fast moving west to east flow that will bring some relatively minor clipper systems. The first one affects mainly just northeast Minnesota Monday.
Northeastern Minnesota will see light snow showers with up to 1 to 2 inches in some places. Most places will see 1 inch or less.
The second clipper brings a possible wintry mix to central and southern Minnesota with a coating (under 1/2 inch) of snowfall in central Minnesota Tuesday. We’ll have another rather minor shot of light snow showers Wednesday but then the potential for a bigger storm system Friday night into Saturday that will bring a wintry mix, rain and snow to the state.
