Many areas are subzero early Thursday morning; basically the northern half of Minnesota.
It will be a bright day with sunshine and slightly warmer highs Thursday afternoon. We’ll see more sunshine Thursday with temperatures actually a little warmer; in the mid to upper 20s south and teens north.
A second blast of cold air makes its way south Thursday night, bringing even colder temperatures for Friday into Saturday morning. Highs Friday won’t get out of the teens even in southern Minnesota.
Saturday morning will bring the bottom of this latest cold snap with late season subzero readings for most of Minnesota.
We are still looking at a big shift in the pattern Sunday into next week with much milder temperatures, including our first 50s.
