Our Twin Cities high temps were in the chilly 30s last weekend. The previous weekend, we had a Saturday high of 54 degrees at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and a Sunday high of 60. This coming weekend will feature high temps that are closer to normal.
Weekend temps and winds
Our average April 2 high temperature is 50 degrees in the Twin Cities. That’s about where we’ll top out in the metro area on Saturday. There will be some 30s in far northern Minnesota and some lower 50s in parts of southern Minnesota, with mainly 40s elsewhere:

It’ll be a bit breezy on Saturday, with wind gusts around 20 mph at times:

Forecast gusts are in knots, with 18 knots equal to 20.7 mph. Winds will taper off a bit by late Saturday afternoon.

Sunday highs will be mainly in the 40s, with upper 40s in the Twin Cities metro area:

Parts of Lake and Cook counties in northeastern Minnesota could see Sunday highs in the upper 30s.
Any rain or snow?
A mix of rain and snow will move across parts of Minnesota and western Wisconsin Friday night. That precipitation could linger into early Saturday morning in southeastern Minnesota and parts and western Wisconsin, with scattered light snow showers also possible on Saturday in northeastern Minnesota.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 4 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Saturday:

Sunday starts out dry. One forecast model shows a chance of rain showers moving into central and southern Minnesota Sunday afternoon, then mixing with some flakes as the precipitation expands into western Wisconsin Sunday evening.
