A low pressure system will spread precipitation across portions of Minnesota and western Wisconsin today and this evening.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s High Resolution Rapid Refresh model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. this Sunday:
The changeover from rain to a rain/snow mix to all snow will happen first in west-central Minnesota and parts of southwestern Minnesota, then spread eastward.
The metro area will see mainly rain this afternoon, with a rain/snow mix possible by late afternoon and a changeover to wet snow this evening.

One to two inches of snow could accumulate in parts of western Minnesota today into tonight, with an inch or less possible in the Twin Cities metro area this evening.

Sunday wind gusts will be fairly low in northern and central Minnesota, but wind gusts could be over 20 mph by Sunday afternoon in parts of the southwest:
Forecast gusts are in knots, with 18 knots equal to 20.7 mph.
