Our average Twin Cities high temperature is 60 degrees on April 23. We’ll probably reach the lower 70s Saturday afternoon. Most of central and southern Minnesota, plus western Wisconsin, will have Saturday highs in the 70s:

The northern third of Minnesota will have Saturday highs in the 60s and upper 50s.

Saturday afternoon dew point temps will be almost summery, in the upper 50s to around 60 in many areas:

Sunday highs retreat to the 40s in many areas, with 50s in the Twin Cities, southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

Most of Minnesota will have Sunday dew points in the 40s, with dew points in the 50s in western Wisconsin:

Thunderstorm chances Saturday afternoon into Saturday night

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop Saturday afternoon and linger into Saturday night.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 7 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. on Sunday:

Keep in mind that computer models cannot be expected to forecast individual thunderstorms. Thunderstorm coverage will depend in part on the amount of sunshine and the destabilization that occurs in any given area.

Northwestern Minnesota could see a mix of rain and snow on Sunday.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center shows a slight risk of severe weather Saturday and Saturday night for much of Minnesota and a portion of west-central Wisconsin:

Slight risk means that scattered severe thunderstorms are possible:
