It was a gorgeous Saturday!
Highs reach the 70s across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin Saturday afternoon, but it was cooler near Lake Superior. The Saturday high temp at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 74 degrees. Our average Twin Cities high temp is 66 this time of year.
Sunday highs will be cooler, with some lower 60s in western and southern Minnesota plus western Wisconsin:
Most of northern Minnesota will have Sunday highs in the 50s.

It’ll be breezy again on Sunday, with gusts over 30 mph in much of eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin:
Forecast wind gusts are in knots, with 27 knots equal to 31 mph.
Rain chances
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move into parts of western Minnesota late Saturday evening, then spread eastward overnight.
Periods of rain showers are likely in much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin Sunday morning and early afternoon, and there will probably be some embedded t-storms too. Some spots could then see scattered showers and and isolated t-storm later Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 3 a.m. Sunday to 10 p.m. on Sunday:
NOAA’s High-Resolution Rapid-Refresh (HRRR) model shows a similar rain pattern:

Temperature trends
Highs in the 80s will poke into southern Minnesota on Monday, with 70s in central Minnesota and western Wisconsin:
Summery dew points in the 60s are expected Monday afternoon in roughly the southern half of Minnesota.
Back to forecast highs, Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the mid 70s on Tuesday, followed by lower 80s Wednesday, mid 80s Thursday and around 80 on Friday.
I’ll bet some people will be turning on their air conditioners this week.
