It’ll be a warm Thursday but thunderstorms will develop late in the afternoon and some of those could be severe. Temperatures then drop the next few days.
Severe weather risk Thursday
An enhanced risk (level 3 out of 5) for severe weather exits later Thursday. Some storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds and large hail. A few storms could produce tornadoes.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop late in the afternoon into the overnight.

Chilly weekend
After the thunderstorms it’ll be cooler the next several days. Highs will be in the 60s Friday and just 50s this weekend with only 40s in northern Minnesota. That will set up for a cold Friday and Saturday nights. Frost is possible in northern Minnesota.
