Thursday will be warmer with more sunshine but we’ll also see windy conditions develop as a cool front swings into northern Minnesota.
Winds increase again Thursday
It’s another somewhat cool start to the day early Thursday with temperatures mainly in the 40s and low 50s early on. We’ll see a fair amount of sunshine for most of Minnesota Thursday though northern Minnesota will have more clouds. Highs will be in the mid-70s south but just 50s and 60s north of the cool front.

The culprit for the clouds to the north is a weak cool front swinging south through the day. That front is also going to put the “squeeze” on the atmosphere generating more wind by midday and afternoon once again. Sustained winds will be near 15-20 mph from the west with gusts up to 30 mph.

Cooler Friday; showers Saturday
Friday will be a little cooler for most of the state but with more brilliant sunshine.

Late Friday night into Saturday will bring the next chance of showers. At this point it looks like plain old scattered rain showers rather than thunder and certainly no severe storms which is welcomed news.
