If you have outdoor plans this weekend, you’re probably interested in whether you’ll see some rain.
Computer models still show that the best chance of rain on Saturday will be in the southern third of Minnesota and into southern Wisconsin. The showers may begin in southwestern Minnesota Friday evening, then spread eastward overnight and Saturday.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 6 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Saturday:
The NAM model also shows an area of showers in portions of northern Minnesota Friday evening and another area of showers developing in central Minnesota late Saturday afternoon into early Saturday evening.

An isolated thunderstorm is also possible in far southern Minnesota on Saturday.
Many areas will have a dry or mostly dry Sunday; one forecast model shows a few spotty showers popping up in Minnesota and western Wisconsin Sunday afternoon and evening.

Weekend temps and winds
Our average Twin Cities high temperature is 76 degrees on June 4. We’ll have metro area highs in the mid 60s Saturday. Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have highs in the 60s Saturday afternoon, with a stripe of 70 degrees or higher from Moorhead and Detroit Lakes over to Brainerd:
Saturday afternoon wind gusts will be between 14 and 18 mph in many areas:
Forecast wind gusts are in knots, with 14 knots equal to 16.1 mph.
Sunday highs will be in the 60s in many areas, with some lower 70s from the Twin Cities metro area into parts of south-central and southeastern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin:
Sunday afternoon wind gusts will be fairly light in most areas, but gusts could approach 20 mph in parts of northwestern Minnesota:
