Friday will be nice with lots of sunshine. On Saturday, temperatures rise into the 90s in western Minnesota. It will be hot across much of the state Sunday through Tuesday.
Here’s a look at Friday’s high temps:

Saturday will bring a few more clouds and even the possibility of a few showers for some.

If you look closely, you’ll note the showers are moving up and around in a clockwise direction in the Dakotas and Minnesota. This is a result of the heat dome blocking most moisture. As the heat moves back in over the weekend, that will push most activity up and around the region.

We saw this similar pattern on Thursday as the heat dome was compressed to our south.

A heat wave builds in
The heat that was pushed south for the last couple days, is building back into the west and then spreading into Minnesota over the weekend.

Temperatures will warm into the 90s in western Minnesota Saturday, and for much of Minnesota by Sunday and Monday. The heat index will be in the triple digits for many on Sunday and Monday.

The long-range forecast continues to be well above normal for the next 10 days to two weeks. Expect to add to our 90-degree tallies.
