Thunderstorms and severe weather possible

 of the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch valid until 1 a.m. Friday for much of Central Minnesota and a portion of northern Minnesota:

The Storm Prediction Center added northeastern Minnesota to the severe thunderstorm watch, which now includes central and northeastern Minnesota until 1 a.m. Friday:

Areas of thunderstorms are also possible elsewhere in Minnesota (including the Twin Cities metro area) plus western Wisconsin Thursday evening and overnight Thursday night.

A few scattered thunderstorms are also possible early Friday morning, then late Friday afternoon and Friday evening.

Friday highs will reach the lower 90s in much of west-central and southern Minnesota, with mainly 80s elsewhere:

Friday dew points will be in the sticky 60s:

Saturday highs will be in the 80s in central and southern Minnesota, with 70s to the north:

Sunday highs will be mainly in the 70s, with 60s in the far north:

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible Friday night and Saturday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday:
