The Twin Cities should have a high around 82 with a west wind of just 5 to 15 mph. Isolated sprinkles are possible across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin by late afternoon and evening.

Dew points will surge for Wednesday and Thursday as well, due partly to airflow from the Gulf of Mexico but also evapotranspiration from the fast-growing cornfields of the Corn Belt.

Chances of showers and thunderstorms at times Monday night through Thursday

Unstable air ahead of an advancing cold front and atmospheric ripples aloft will generate occasional showers and thunderstorms this week. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to track eastward across central and southern Minnesota Monday night.

Stronger storms could build Tuesday afternoon. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Storm Prediction Center has posted a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for southeastern Minnesota and much of Wisconsin for later on Tuesday.

Wednesday should bring scattered showers and storms to northern parts of Minnesota. A marginal risk has been posted for much of northern and central Minnesota for Wednesday.
