Warmer, much less windy Monday

High pressure will bring us mostly sunny skies, warmer temperatures, and light winds for Monday. High temperatures will range from the mid 70s in northern Minnesota to the low and mid 80s farther south. The Twin Cities should have a high around 82 with a west wind of just 5 to 15 mph. Isolated sprinkles are possible across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin by late afternoon.

Warming trend to continue

Expect warmer temperatures into midweek. The Twin Cities will likely flirt with 90 on Wednesday and Thursday.

Various disturbances will be poised to kick off occasional showers and thunderstorms this week. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to track eastward across central and southern Minnesota Monday night.

Stronger storms could build Tuesday afternoon in the east. The Storm Prediction Center has posted a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for southeastern Minnesota and much of Wisconsin for later on Tuesday.

Wednesday should bring scattered showers and storms to northern parts of Minnesota while the whole state could see chances of getting rain on Thursday.

Comfortable for the Fourth of July weekend

High temperatures will fall back to near-normal values for the Friday-Monday period. Storm chances for those days seem minimal.
