July heat continues; chance of isolated storms Sunday afternoon

Sunday is going to be a hot, muggy one. Look for high temperatures across Minnesota mainly from the mid 80s to the mid 90s, with those mid 90s most likely in northwestern Minnesota. The North Shore will be cooler as a breeze blows off Lake Superior. The Twin Cities should warm to near 90.

Lingering instability might allow the daytime heating to kick off a few isolated thunderstorms Sunday afternoon including near the Twin Cities, but most of us will stay dry.

There will be just a marginal (dark green, level 1 of 5) risk of severe storms Sunday evening in the northwestern corner of Minnesota around Hallock and Roseau.
