Temperatures will remain cooler than normal slightly for much of Minnesota this week. Scattered showers and some thunder develop Tuesday. Heat is building in for the weekend and first days of August.
Dry Monday; showers possible Tuesday
Monday will be dry and comfortable with highs in the low 80s south and 70s north. Clouds will increase from west to east ahead of the next chance of some showers. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible by evening in far southwest Minnesota. Those will spread east Tuesday.

The more significant precipitation totals will be confined to northern Minnesota, leaving the Twin Cities area still needing more rain.

Below normal temps through Friday then hot again
Sunshine will be back Wednesday with slightly cooler air for both Wednesday and Thursday. In fact, highs in northeast Minnesota will be just in the upper 60s those days.

Don’t get used to the cooler stretch; above normal temperatures and heat build back in for the weekend and the start of August next week.
