More sunshine, warmer; showers possible Friday
Back into the 80s for most Tuesday and Wednesday
Temperatures will be back well into the 80s Tuesday and Wednesday. Parts of southern and western Minnesota will even see a slight, temporary rise in dew points. The next chance of some rain comes late Thursday into Friday.
Warmer but heat stays west
The cool morning, after the weekend rains led to fog in the Mississippi River valley Tuesday morning. With no clouds around, the fog is perfectly visible in the rugged valleys of southeastern Minnesota.
Tuesday and Wednesday will bring warmer temperatures but not so much heat; 90s should remain west of most of Minnesota. We will see dew points increase temporarily a bit in western Minnesota Tuesday and in southeastern Minnesota Wednesday before dropping again.
Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s Wednesday but drop back to near 80 Thursday and Friday. We’ll be back in the mid to upper 80s for the weekend but the overall temperature outlook for the next six to 10 days favors hotter conditions staying just west.
Latest possibilities for Friday rainfall
Our next chance of rain develops late Thursday in southwestern Minnesota and spreads east on Friday. At this point, most models favor the significant rainfall falling in western Minnesota.
