Another sunny day Wednesday; showers Friday

Temperatures will be a bit warmer Wednesday and we’ll have a short-lived increase in dew points. Expect more sunshine with slightly cooler conditions Thursday before showers develop Friday.

Warmer, slightly more humid Wednesday

Expect another day filled with sunshine Wednesday. High temperatures will be slightly warmer in the mid to upper 80s. You’ll also notice dew points ticking up a bit into the low or middle 60s, making it feel sticky.

The moisture increase will be short-lived as a cool front already pushes that air south late Wednesday. Thursday will be slightly cooler with highs in the low 80s.

Overall, the heat is staying largely just to our west in the next several days. The biggest area of above-normal temperatures (pictured in orange and red below) are just on our western doorstep.

It’s a nice break for a change. Most of the country has seen a hotter than normal summer. The lucky exception? Minnesota’s arrowhead and the eastern portions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Showers are possible Thursday and Friday

A few showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon in southwest Minnesota and more scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible for much of central and southern Minnesota Friday.

After that, it’s a bit hotter and more humid for Saturday. Highs will be in the upper 80s in the south with dew points in the 60s to near 70 for some.
