Storms north; partly cloudy south Tuesday
The unsettled pattern continues through the week
Southern Minnesota will have the nicer weather Tuesday with more sunshine than the last few days and slightly warmer temperatures. The northern half of Minnesota will have the continued chance of scattered showers and storms.
Scattered storms north Tuesday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible for the northern half of Minnesota Tuesday.
The southern half of Minnesota will see more sunshine and warmer temperatures as a result. Highs will be in the low 80s south and in the 70s north under the increased cloud cover.
The chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm could drift a bit more south, perhaps into the Twin Cities area and central Minnesota Wednesday.
Upper low increases rain chances and cool conditions
A cool, upper-level low will become cut off from the main flow of the atmosphere Friday into the weekend. This is an unusual pattern for summer. It’s a pattern we’d expect more in fall or spring.
The slow-moving upper low will create a lot of clouds and scattered showers late Thursday into Friday and Saturday. It could bring rainfall totals over one inch for some.
