Thursday will be the last of the hot and muggy days in this stretch. Rain showers develop Friday with cooler air for the weekend.
Windy, hot and muggy Thursday
South winds at 10-25 mph get roaring Thursday ahead of a cool front. Gusts will be near 30 mph or higher. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s to near 90 for southern Minnesota.

The muggy air will remain in place until Thursday night when the cool front comes through.
Showers Friday, cooler through the weekend
The cool front will touch off showers and thunderstorms late Thursday in northern Minnesota. The showers will gradually follow the front south and southeast into Friday night.

Temperatures will be significantly cooler, in the 60s and low 70s Friday into the weekend but we could see 80 again by the middle of next week.
