Summerlike highs in the 70s and 80s for Monday and Tuesday will be followed by a cool blast of fall air. A few storms are possible in northern Minnesota Monday and farther south Monday night.
Summer weather to start the week
Monday will be a gorgeous day with highs near 80 south and comfortable under mainly sunny skies. A few afternoon thunderstorms are possible in northern Minnesota.
The risk of a spotty shower or thunderstorm will move south Monday night into very early Tuesday as warmer and more muggy air returns.
The sun is back for Tuesday with highs in the mid to upper 80s across southern Minnesota. It may be one of the last summer blasts.
Cool blast of fall air arrives Wednesday
A significant cool front moves through northern Minnesota Tuesday and clears the state Tuesday night, dropping high temperatures into the 50s north and 60s south on Wednesday.
The cool air sticks around through the rest of the week into the upcoming weekend, the first one of autumn. The autumnal equinox is at 8:03 p.m. on Thursday evening.
