Fall color has been working its way southward across Minnesota. Spotty reds, oranges and yellows can be found around the Twin Cities area.
Warm again Wednesday
Warm temperatures will hang around again for Wednesday. Look for afternoon highs from the mid-60s north to the low 70s south. The Twin Cities should warm into the low 70s with a light breeze.
Spotty light showers early this morning have been north and southeast of the Twin Cities area. A few heavier showers are over southwestern and west central Minnesota at 6 a.m.
There will be isolated showers, mostly quite light, today, mainly across southern Minnesota. A few showers and small thunderstorms could pop across northern Minnesota as well. The Twin Cities have just a slight chance of scattered light rain.
Much cooler Thursday and Friday
A strong cold front will sweep southeast across Minnesota Wednesday night. Thursday will be a jacket day. Much cooler weather will arrive from Canada, pushed by a gusty northwest wind. Thursday’s high temperatures will be only from the mid-40s north to the 50s south. The Twin Cities should have a mid-day high in the low 50s and then falling temperatures in the afternoon.
Friday will also be chilly.
Milder again for the weekend
Temperatures will recover on the weekend, especially for Sunday.
