After a cold start, Wednesday’s high temps should be several degrees warmer than Tuesday, mainly in the 40s with some upper 30s in the Arrowhead and low 50s in the west and Red River Valley.
A stormy pattern develops Sunday night into Monday after a very warm weekend.
Temps climb quickly Wednesday into the weekend
It’s another cold start early Wednesday with temperatures back in the 20s and teens across Minnesota, but Wednesday will warm significantly. Winds will finally be relatively light, below 10 mph.
Thursday will bring even warmer highs, with widespread 50s.
By Sunday we’re still on track for 70s for much of southern Minnesota.
Possible storm Sunday night into Monday
We’re in sort of “I’ll believe it when I see it” mode after an extraordinarily dry autumn thus far, but the models continue to point to a combination of factors to create our best chance of decent rainfall in potentially two months for the Twin Cities and areas in the severe and extreme portions of drought.
After the system moves through, temperatures cool but not to the unseasonable cold we just are recovering from.
