Increasing clouds Thursday, still mild with highs in the 60s to near 70. Showers are possible Thursday night into early Friday with more rain possible for some Friday night.

Mild air departs after Thursday

Clouds will increase Thursday ahead of a cool front that will drop temperatures. It will still be mild Thursday, even pulling off another possible 70-degree day.

Two rounds of rain possible

The first possibility of rain showers comes Thursday night into early Friday along the cold front.

The second, more potent surge of moisture will swing in from the southwest but looks to largely dump significant rainfall to the southeast of the extreme and severe drought areas of Minnesota.

Two questions will be how much cold air slides in on the backside of the system Saturday and where, to create potential snowfall. Regardless, it will be cooler over the weekend, in the 40s and 50s mostly by day and 30s in the overnights.

Temperatures will likely climb back upward again for the middle of next week to mild levels.
