One more mild day, then cooler

Pleasant temperatures are on tap for much of Minnesota for Saturday. A mild airmass and sunshine on mostly-bare ground will push temperatures into the upper 40s to mid 50s across the southern half of the state. Here is the outlook for the Twin Cities area:

Northeastern Minnesota will be on the mild side as well, with highs mainly in the low 40s.

Northwestern Minnesota, however, will be under the effects of a cold front that will bring clouds and hold highs down a bit into the 30s around Hallock. Flurries and sprinkles are possible in the northwest, as well.

That cold front will continue to track southeast across Minnesota. Flurries are possible Saturday night. And chillier temperatures are a sure bet for Sunday. Highs around the state should be in the upper 20s northwest and 30s elsewhere. The Twin Cities should have a high around 36.

Milder Monday

Monday will be a bit milder. And there is a chance of light snow across northern Minnesota.

Snow Tuesday?

A broad band of a few inches of snow seems probable for somewhere in Minnesota on Tuesday. Forecast models have not pinned down the likely areas. Southern Minnesota could get rain or mixed precipitation.

Colder later in the week

Colder temperatures seem likely for Wednesday through Friday.
