Clouds Monday, breezy; snow showers Tuesday
Overall cooler than normal most of the week
A cool front will keep the breeze from the northwest at 10-20 mph Monday with cloudy skies. Highs will mainly be in the 20s to near 30 south, teens north. A few light snow showers are possible with even some patchy light freezing rain in far southern Minnesota. Snow develops for mainly the northern half of Minnesota Tuesday. We’ll also have a couple of cold nights Monday and Tuesday nights.
Cool front brings in the chill
Temperatures won’t move a whole lot Monday as northwest winds blow at 10-20 mph. Highs will be near 30 in southeast Minnesota but only in the low teens in northwest Minnesota. A few light snow showers are possible north and some patchy light freezing rain or light snow showers in far southern Minnesota along I-90.
It’ll be a cold night Monday night as temps dip into the single digits to around 10 in the Twin Cities and below zero in northern Minnesota.
Snow develops Tuesday with accumulations mainly north
Snow showers will develop Tuesday and spread across northern Minnesota. The snow will be more scattered and light in southern Minnesota.
Most of the accumulations will be confined to the northern half of the state.
Temperatures will remain below normal through Wednesday or Thursday but as the cold retreat some, we’ll see highs in the 30s across southern Minnesota by the end of the week into the upcoming weekend.
