Snow showers push east early Friday. Temperatures will drop from near 30 in southern Minnesota to the teens by evening with subzero air settling into northern Minnesota by evening. Wind gusts will range from 30 mph east to as high as 50 mph west Friday.

Temperatures will drop through the day from near 30 in southern Minnesota to the teens by the evening. Temperatures will drop from the teens to below zero for northern Minnesota.

The rushing in of the polar air mass will result in gusty winds, especially during the morning hours Friday. Wind gusts will range from 30 mph in the east to 50 mph in far western Minnesota.

Saturday night will bring the first subzero reading in the Twin Cities since Christmas morning. Highs both Saturday and Sunday will be in the single digits south and remaining subzero north. We should see a decent amount of sunshine both weekend days between period of clouds.

Warmer by the end of next week?

The frigid air will stay in place for the next seven days but we may see temperatures back near normal again by the end of next week. High temperatures by next Friday or Saturday should return to the 20s.
