Wintry mix develops Monday afternoon, evening; mild week ahead
Temperatures will run well above normal into next weekend
Very mild temperatures will continue this week. A clipper system will bring a wintry mix of rain and snow showers Monday afternoon and evening across much of Minnesota.
Clipper system brings a wintry mix
A quick moving clipper system will make for a little weather Monday. First, it will be rather windy at times. Winds will be from the south most of the day at 10-20 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph.
A wintry mix of rain and snow and even possible freezing rain develops in west central Minnesota midday and tracks east into the evening hours.
Portions of central Minnesota into western Wisconsin could see an icy coating late Monday afternoon and evening in areas where surface temperatures are just below freezing.

Other areas in east central and northern Minnesota will see a slushy coating of wet snow.
Mild temperatures continue all week long
High temperatures Monday will be well into the 30s for most of the state.
Highs mainly in the 30s will persist much of the week for most of the state. In fact, Wednesday could be the warmest day with a few places nearing 40 degrees.
Another possibility of snow and rain showers moves through Thursday.
