Clouds thicken up, winds increase as next wintry storm develops late Tuesday
Precipitation will be mainly rain south and snow north Tuesday evening and overnight
Winds increase Tuesday as our next system brings rain and snow to Minnesota late in the day. Snowfall will be confined to mainly the northern half of the state overnight Tuesday night with another round of moisture for southern Minnesota Wednesday night.
Clouds, wind increase Tuesday; rain, snow develop late
Clouds will thicken up Tuesday ahead of our next storm system. It will still be relatively mild across southern Minnesota with highs of 40 plus from the Twin Cities southeastward. Northern Minnesota will see highs in the 20s and 30s.
Winds will be increasing as well from the east as an area of low pressure moves in from the southwest. Winds will increase to 15-20 mph from the east with higher gusts.
A few snow showers will develop across central Minnesota potentially already midday and expand late in the afternoon and evening while at the same time rain showers move into southern Minnesota.
The overall precipitation will be mainly snow for the northern half of the state with mainly rain in the southern half. Portions of northwest Minnesota and the North Shore especially could see significant accumulations.

Another system takes a more southerly track bringing the potential of more rain and mainly snow Wednesday night, this time for southern Minnesota.
