Thursday will still be cold with lingering clouds and morning snow showers in northeast Minnesota. Expect sunshine south but still chilly. It’ll be windy through the morning statewide before a rapid warmup this weekend.
Chilly Thursday; lingering NE snow showers
Temperatures will remain well below normal Thursday with highs in the 20s and 30s to near 40 in the far south.

Expect lingering clouds for northern Minnesota much of the day with some scattered snow showers.

Winds will also remain high through the morning but lighten into the afternoon and evening Thursday.

Those winds will make it feel substantially colder, in the single digits north to teens south for wind chills through the morning hours Thursday.
Rapid, substantial warmup ahead
Friday will already bring significant improvement with highs near 50 in southern Minnesota with more sunshine.

Saturday will bring the first 60 for the Twin Cities with 50s well into northern Minnesota for the first time this season.

The real jump in temperatures occurs next week with a major ridge of warmth and a dry weather pattern. Highs Monday will reach the 70s south and 60s into even northeastern Minnesota. The Red River Valley will continue to be much cooler than the rest of the state.
