Weekend weather: Cool temps, showers at times

Milder temps return on Tuesday

The weekend is approaching and there are clouds and periods of showers in the forecast.

At least our sunsets are later this time of year, so people who work weekdays indoors were able to enjoy the dry and brighter weather earlier this week.

Weekend shower chances

A slowly moving low-pressure system will bring showers at times on Saturday. Northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin will probably see a mix of rain showers and snow showers.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 4 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Saturday:

Western Minnesota looks dry on Sunday but eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have some showers at times.

The Twin Cities metro area, southeastern Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin will probably see some rain showers at times on Sunday. Periods or snow showers and rain showers are expected Sunday in portions of northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.
