Windy Tuesday, lots of sun; temps rise; fire warnings up

We’ll have yet another windy day Tuesday but it will be mostly sunny. Highs will range from the upper 40s in the Arrowhead to near 60 in the Twin Cities and parts of southwestern Minnesota.

Wednesday will bring warmer temperatures with 60s and even low 70s in southern and western Minnesota.

Tuesday will be sunny but again rather windy. Winds will be from the northwest at 15-25 mph with gusts around 30 mph.

Temperatures will be well into the 50s to near 60 degrees for highs.

Relative humidity will really drop by the afternoon to just about 10 to 15 percent for many areas. This combination of gusty winds and low afternoon humidity along with a slowly greening landscape will lead to increased fire danger for much of Minnesota.

The warm up really begins Wednesday

Temperatures finally start to really increase Wednesday. Highs will be well into the 60s with low 70s in parts of western and southern Minnesota.

Winds will also be much lighter from the southwest by afternoon. Thursday will bring more widespread low 70s in southern and western Minnesota.

There will be a few spotty rain chances Friday into the weekend but overall drier than recent weeks.
