Above-normal temperatures are in the weekend forecast.
The Twin Cities metro area hasn’t seen above-normal weekend high temps since early April, so this is a welcome change.
Weekend temps and winds
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 66 degrees on May 6. Metro area highs are forecast to reach the upper 60s on Saturday.
Highs in the 60s are expected Saturday afternoon in the southern half of Minnesota plus much of western Wisconsin, with mainly 50s in northern Minnesota:

There will be some 40s near Lake Superior.
Saturday will be breezy, with afternoon wind gusts above 20 mph:
Forecast wind gusts are in knots, with 22 knots equal to 25.3 mph.
Sunday highs reach the 70s in most of the southern half of Minnesota, plus west-central Wisconsin:
Northern Minnesota will see mainly 60s for Sunday high temps, with 50s near Lake Superior.
Rain chances
Most areas will see some showers at times this weekend, but there will be many more dry minutes than wet minutes. A thunderstorm is also possible Saturday afternoon and early evening, and Sunday evening.
