Cool front brings chances of needed thunderstorms
Much cooler Sunday before heating back up
Northern Minnesota will see the chance of spotty late day thunderstorm. Central and southern Minnesota have a shot at some rain Saturday afternoon and evening before things cool off Sunday.
Thunderstorm chances; cooler by Sunday
Friday will be a bit warmer ahead of a cool front diving south out of Canada into northern Minnesota. Highs will mainly be in the low to mid 80s statewide. Southwestern Minnesota will see a few thundershowers Friday morning.
The cool front will bring a temporary increase in dew points as the muggy air that departed a couple days ago is pushed back in.
This will also bring the chance of some spotty thunderstorms late Friday in northern Minnesota then in central and southern Minnesota Saturday afternoon and evening.
Behind the cool front we’ll see the coolest air in possibly two to three weeks with highs in just the low to mid-70s for most and some cooler overnights again in the 50s, 40s and even pockets of upper 30s in northeastern Minnesota.
Don’t get used to it. The heat looks to build back in for the middle of next week but it does appear to be more of a “dry heat.”
