Many parts of Minnesota could use some rain.
This week’s U.S. Drought Monitor report shows moderate drought (beige) in 12.4 percent of Minnesota, including roughly the northern half of the Twin Cities metro area:
Almost 60 percent of Minnesota (yellow) is abnormally dry but not yet in drought.
Saturday rain chances
At 8 a.m. Saturday there were some showers in far southern portions of Jackson and Martin counties in southern Minnesota, with the showers moving southward. There were also a few scattered showers from Fergus Falls to Sandstone and in far northeastern Minnesota, drifting slowly southeastward.

A weak cold front will continue to sag southward through central and southern Minnesota Saturday, which should help develop some scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Some locations in Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see little or no rain Saturday, but some spots could see downpours for a while due to slow thunderstorm movement.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s High-Resolution Rapid Refresh forecast model shows the potential rain pattern from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday:
Pay more attention to the scattered nature of the rain in most areas rather than the exact location of the rain at any point in time.

Saturday temps and dew points
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 78 degrees on June 10. Some spots in the metro area could reach 80 degrees Saturday afternoon.
Much of central and southern Minnesota will have Saturday highs in the upper 70s, but a few lower 80s are possible in the far southeast:
Highs in the 60s are expected near Lake Superior.
Many locations will have summery dew points in the upper 50s to lower 60s Saturday afternoon:
Dew points will be much drier on Sunday
