Get ready for another stretch of hot, dry weather with 90s returning for many. We’ll remain dry until Monday or Tuesday.

Hot, dry weather ahead

Friday will be very warm with highs in the upper 80s south to near 80 in northern Minnesota. These temperatures will be about five or more degrees above normal.

Dew points will be lower than the last few days, mainly in the 50s to low 60s making it slightly more comfortable.

The heat builds more for the weekend into early next week with highs near 90 or hotter Sunday through Tuesday for southern Minnesota. Highs will even be in the upper 80s in northeast Minnesota except for right near Lake Superior. Monday looks to be the peak of the heat with highs well into the 90s south.

A cool front will start to touch off spotty thunderstorms Monday, mainly in central and northern Minnesota late in the day and statewide for the Fourth of July holiday on Tuesday.
