This is the first day of July, and we have summery weather on tap.
Morning sunshine is being filtered in some areas by high clouds streaming northeastward from a thunderstorm complex in eastern Nebraska.
Here’s the satellite loop from around 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. today:
Southern Minnesota and parts of the Twin Cities metro area will have filtered sunshine this morning/early afternoon.

Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have a dry Saturday. An isolated shower is possible in far southern Minnesota. Far northeastern Minnesota could see an isolated shower later this afternoon and this evening.
Temperatures and dew points
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 83 degrees on July 1. Metro area highs are expected to reach the upper 80s this Saturday.
Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have Saturday highs in the 80s:
There could be some upper 70s from around Tofte to Grand Marais along the North Shore of Lake Superior.
Afternoon dew points will be fairly comfortable, mainly in the 50s:
